The fine kilim used in this handcrafted ottoman is handwoven of 100% wool by nomadic tribes people in the mountain villages of Afghanistan.
Wool kilims have long played an important role in village life, in the home as traditional floor mats and bedding cover, as a ceremonial cloth, and as an ostentatious display of wealth with valuable dowry kilims.
Each is unique in design, with characteristics of the region from which it comes.
